We’re excited to announce our EV pilot!
We took delivery of our first EV about a month ago and have been doing some preliminary testing with a select group of members to hone our operating model to accommodate for EV operations. We’re incredibly excited to become an EV company (note our hybrids will remain available) as we believe in enjoying nature while also preserving it.
Our first EV is a Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL with AWD. It’s in stunning Lucid blue and has up to a 256 mile range and is one of the quickest charging EVs currently on the market – charging to 80% in as quick as 18 minutes. Other features include HTRAC All Wheel Drive, heated seats & steering wheel, Highway Driving Assist II, wireless device charging, parking sensors, heated seats, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Drive Mode Select with Snow Mode.
Learn more about the Ioniq 5 here.
We recently took our Ioniq 5 to Tahoe to enjoy the record snow levels and found it’s AWD system to be superior to a Jeep Latitude (our friend needed some help!) With a dedicated snow mode with power vectoring, the car remained planted through the slush. We provide snow socks for this model but didn’t need them on this trip. Charging was a breeze having found a Chargepoint Chevron fast charger in Folsom (next to a Costco) plus our cabin in Strawberry even had one at the local Strawberry Station General Store! The car looked amazing in the fresh snow, take a look below.
